Communication

Person Centred Thinking and Planning starts with listening.

We listen in many different ways. Sometimes it can take weeks, months, years to properly understand who a person is, how they communicate, how they wish to live, where they want to go in life.

People communicate with their words and noises, their eyes and their bodies. We are communicating all the time.

Everyone communicates - if we spend the time to listen, we will learn some of the unique ways each individual communicates, and some ways we can communicate back.

Whenever we find out new things about the person and their communication, we need to find ways to record this information so that more people can listen properly to the person. This is especially important when we do not yet understand completely how the person communicates.
